UGLY, ugly, ugly is how I see the whole behaviour of people (with notable exceptions by a few) in the Dennis Ferguson paedophile case.
What Ferguson did was ugly.
It happened 20 or so years ago.
He is now an older man – I imagine very much afraid and tired, being hunted by people, perhaps also afraid, but equally ugly.
Many children unfortunately are much threatened by molestation and abuse, sadly within the family, today.
I have no answer as to why people do these things.
But I surely feel persecuting one old man will not solve a crime for which he has been punished by law, or heal an ongoing malaise.
It does, however, set before me an example of those who pursue a monster becoming monstrous
themselves.
