Tamworth U18 water polo team prepares for State

WATER POLO: TAMWORTH’S under 18 boys’ water polo side is ready for another major championship.

The Sean and Paul Hofman-coached side is preparing for the NSW Under 18 Club Championships at Parramatta on November 21/22.

They have been preparing for four years in some way, shape or form, Sean Hofman said.

“They’ve been together as a squad since the 14s,” Hofman said.

“I’ve had them for about four years, through the 14s, 15s and 16s.

“So they have played together for a long time and know each other fairly well.”

The Hofmans have a squad of 11 which has been “slowly getting back into it” from the end of last season.

“They’ve had a couple of good, hard games in the local comp, that’s helped,” Hofman said.

“Their fitness is still fairly good too and their ball handling getting better as they are getting bigger and stronger.”

He said most of the side played together for the Calala Inn club as well as playing together in the B and C grade competition of a Tuesday night.
