CHRIS Paterson Stock and Station Agents and Joblink Plus must win their respective round five McDonald’s East Tamworth Premier League fixtures if they are any hope of making the final.
McDonald’s and Imperial Hotel are both poised to seal a place in the decider unless one or both of the trailing sides can come up with the goods on the Riverside tonight.
“There’s two games left and they are must-wins for us,” Paterson’s skipper Adam Jones said.
“We definitely need results.”
His side went down to Imperial last Friday after only posting 120 with the bat.
“It was the lowest we’ve scored in four games,” Jones said.
“Someone in the top four needed to go on and make a big score.
“We were 2-11 but we still had plenty of batting and there were gaps there but we weren’t scoring off every ball like we should have been.
“One hundred and twenty is only a run a ball and that’s not enough.
“It’s okay to go along at a run a ball but in the last five overs you need 10 an over.
“We thought if we bowled and fielded well that 120 might be enough.
“But we didn’t really bowl the right lines.”
Impies ran them down pretty easily in the end.
It can book a place in the final if it beats Joblink tonight.
“We changed things around a bit,” Impies captain Don Lewington said.
“Azza (Aaron Hazlewood) opened the bowling and Brendan Reynolds was first change.
“That seemed to work for us today.
“Glenn (Lewington) got us off to a good start.
“And Mick (Rixon) looked in excellent touch.
“We got them with four to spare so we’re pretty happy.”
Patersons needs to upset reigning champions Maccas.
