EXTRA special care and attention has meant praise for the Tamworth Hospital emergency department.
Patient Myra Forrester said she had visited the department about 12 times in the past six years due to a heart condition and each time the staff members were wonderful to her.
“Dr Hungerford sort of treats me like royalty but all of them take extra special care making sure I’m all right,” she said.
“Before they give me any medication they always asks me lots of questions to make sure they don’t make me worse.
“This is important, especially when you’re getting older, because it makes me feel relaxed and I’m sure that’s what helps my heart to go back to its normal rhythm.”
Mrs Forrester said she wanted to thank all the staff members who’d treated her during her
visits.
“It just makes me realise how fortunate I am and we are in Tamworth to have such a great doctors, nurses and hospital staff,” she said.
“They give me extra tender loving care and treat me like I’m a family member,” she said.
“They have even taken the time to ring me from the hospital to tell me about results of any tests I’ve had in case I had to go back again.”
Mrs Forrester said her specialist Dr Alex
Levendel should also be praised because he’d gone out of his way to fit her into his surgery and come to the hospital to tell her about the different treatments and the pros and cons of each.
Tamworth Hospital welcomed the praise.
“It’s always rewarding for our staff to hear about the positive experiences our patients have had under our care,” general manager of Tamworth and Armidale hospitals Fergus Fitzsimons said.
“We have a committed team of doctors and nurses who are passionate about providing the best possible treatment to every person in need of our service.”
Thank you Mrs Forrester for letting our staff know what their hard work means to you.”
