The following three candidates have nominated to contest the by-election: Marilyn Dixon, Michael Allen and Kerry McDonald.

Electors may view each candidate’s information sheet at www.elections.nsw.gov.au or at the office of the returning officer.

Electoral Commissioner Colin Barry reminded voters of early voting options.

“If you cannot get to a polling place on election day, you can still make your vote count by casting a pre-poll or postal vote,” Mr Barry said.

Postal vote applications will be accepted up until 5pm on Monday, November 30.

Pre-poll voting will be available Monday to Friday from November 23 to December 4 at the Gwydir Shire Council’s Bingara office at 33 Maitland St, Bingara, and the Warialda office at 54 Hope St, Warialda.

Election day is Saturday, December 5.

Voting is compulsory for all residents on the electoral roll.
