Tamworth: Miniature railway’s attractions growing

04 Nov, 2009 07:39 PM
TAMWORTH and District Model Engineers are excited to be expanding their miniature railway by constructing a new carriage and locomotive shed.

The unique attraction continues to go from strength to strength and the latest building addition is thanks to a generous grant from Joblink Plus’ community donations program.

It’s no small project to house the remarkable miniature engines and carriages. A 16- by 5.5-metre besser-block and concrete building will be constructed by Joblink Plus’ own team of work-for-the-dole trainees.

A set of four railway tracks with diversions will be constructed leading into the building and it is envisaged a signal box will eventually be built atop the locomotive shed.
