THE Melbourne Cup was the perfect excuse for a group of friends from Quirindi to travel to Tamworth Jockey Club yesterday.
Dressed to impress and set for a great day out, the group of 22 hired a bus for the trip to Tamworth, in what looks set to become an annual tradition.
“We did it last year and will probably do it again next year,” Margy Smith said.
“We are all good mates that love going to the races.”
Margy said the Tamworth Jockey Club had an awesome atmosphere and was the best place to celebrate the race that stops the nation.
“Followed by the Boxing Day races at Quirindi, of course,” she said.
