WANTED: six people with very big hearts.
This is the call going out from Jean Medlock of the Tamworth Dog and Cat Refuge, after cat owner Sheila Gleeson died on Monday evening.
Sheila’s brother, John, is desperate to find Sheila’s six cats new homes, as the refuge can’t take any adult cats at the moment – it’s full.
Refuge helper Kirra Hampson said it would be a huge help if new owners for the cats could be found.
“We can’t take any adult cats at all at the moment, so if people are thinking of getting a cat or a dog, now would be the right time,” Ms Hampson said.
John, who didn’t want his surname published, said he really wanted to find homes for the cats, which are house-trained and range in age from 12 years to two.
“I promised (Sheila) I wouldn’t drop them in the street,” John said.
He said they knew their owner had died.
“They’re all very upset,” he said.
All of the cats except one have been desexed; there are five females and one male.
Phone 6760 3650 if you would like to adopt one of the cats.
