THE Tamworth Show Pavilion is full of colour this year, after a year’s hiatus.
Competition is back and schools in the Tamworth district have entered their art and craft to be put on display.
Artworks include giant shoes made from papier mache, tribal masks and portraits.
Carinya Christian School registrar and promotions officer Katrina Telfer spent much of yesterday preparing for the school’s display.
She said she was pleased the students had the opportunity to show off their work.
While the schools were busy putting together their entries, the pavilion committee was getting other displays ready for the opening day.
From spinning and weaving , to knitting and cake decorating, committee member Lorraine Staniland said there was plenty to see this year.
“It’s the first year back in competition,” she said.
“We’re finding numbers are down a little ... but the pavilion is usually pretty popular (with show-goers).”
