The institute received a Gas Tek Global LPG system for its Cummins Signature Engine.

TAFE heavy vehicles teacher Peter Morgan said the installation of LPG to diesel-powered heavy vehicles had been a recent innovation and staff were pleased with the donation to assist the training of apprentices.

“This will add another level to our training capability,” he said.

“Keeping current with industry trends is a continual process and you can be left behind very quickly if you are not able to provide the latest

equipment.

“We have the engine coupled to our 1000hp engine dyno and the results speak for themselves. This system has an approximate value of $15,000 and has been a much-awaited addition.”
