A 32-YEAR-OLD Gunnedah man charged with 16 counts of child pornography was refused bail in Tamworth Local Court yesterday.
Police seized computer equipment and discs during a raid on his home last month.
The man was arrested by officers from the Oxley Local Area Command during a vehicle stop on Barber St, Gunnedah at about 4.15pm on Tuesday.
He was conveyed to Gunnedah Police Station for questioning and was
subsequently refused bail.
Analysis of the computer and accompanying discs allegedly revealed pictures of child exploitation.
He appeared in Tamworth Local Court charged with more than 30 offences including 16 counts of possess child pornography, failure to comply with reporting obligations, providing false/misleading information, two counts of use unregistered motor vehicle, two counts of use uninsured vehicle, two counts of driving a motor vehicle tax unpaid, two counts of goods in custody and two counts of driving whilst
unlicensed.
He will reappear in Tamworth Local Court on Monday, January 12 next year.
