Bulk-bill service returns to city (Armidale)

06 Nov, 2009 07:33 PM
THE Pat Dixon Medical Service’s acting chief executive officer Elva Taylor said Armidale’s first fully bulk-billing medical practice would resume medical services from Monday.

“I am delighted that we can now offer medical services to all people of Armidale and surrounding areas; people can now get the medical treatment they need via bulk- billing,” Mrs Taylor said.

“For too long the disadvantaged people in all our communities have struggled to gain accessible and equitable health care.”

Mrs Taylor said two doctors were beginning Monday and a dentist would start the week after.

She said the resumption of services was just the beginning and the community-controlled medical service was aiming to embrace a whole range of health services.
