AN ARMIDALE teenager will appear in court over a schoolyard assault.
Police were called to a high school on Monday morning after a 16-year-old boy allegedly assaulted a 15-year-old fellow student.
Several other students had intervened to stop the fight but the 15-year-old boy was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries to his face.
The 16-year-old was arrested at the school.
He was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
He was granted bail and will appear before Armidale Children's Court at a later date.
