A few good men

FOUR of the 10 finalists for the prestigious NSW Young Auctioneer of the Year competition, to be held at the Sydney Royal Easter Show, are from Tamworth.

Landmark’s Ben Goodman, Elders’ Luke Thomas, Sam Plevey of VJ Flett and Scott Newberry of Davidson Cameron McCulloch and Co will all vie for the title of best young auctioneer in the State.

The 2008 winner (and last year’s runner-up in the national finals), Robbie Bloch is one of the youngest partners in a private firm in Australia, as branch manager for Inverell’s Cameron, Davidson, Bloch and Co.

More than 1500 people turned out to watch last year’s competition, meaning the pressure will be on to be heard as a standout among the best of the best.

Kieran Te Velde, from Elders Inverell, Sam Sewell of Ray White in Armidale and Andrew Warden from Elders in Gunnedah will also compete.
